Posts: 636 Location: Bloomington, MN | Don't forget to bring a light outfit to toss jigs tipped w/ a crawler or small cranks for the saugeyes. The point by the western boat ramp usually provided me with entertainment at dusk many years ago! Edited by Clark A 10/18/2007 6:47 PM

Location: Illinois | Thanks for the help. I figure I'll post on Sunday with a report. I'm thinking about throwing a straight model firetiger depthraider as my primary lure and working it slow as possible and using a chartreuse Tiger Tube as my throwback.

Posts: 284 | There is musky tournament on Evergreen this weekend, so it's going to be crowded out there ... We ended up catching 4 last weekend. That makes the bite sound better than it is ... Both days we fished before the sun came up until well after the sun went down and only contacted 5 fish total. Just lucky enough to catch 4 of the 5 that struck baits.

Location: Illinois | I'll be participating, if you are fishing in it GOOD LUCK. Hopefully the big winds trigger a feeding frenzy! Mike W Edited by muskellunged 10/19/2007 12:19 PM

How did you do yesterday?

Posts: 75 | Sail boarding was great yesterday and will be even better today. For once the forcast was correc: Southerly winds will increase this morning... with sustained winds of 25 to 30 mph and gusts of 40 to 45 mph likely by midday. Back to the fish, I think 12 boats had less than a hand full.

Location: Illinois | There were fifteen boats and three fish caught. The winning team caught a 36 and a 40 working a drift along the northeast shore. They had three more hooked but did not land. Other teams reported similar encounters. We fished a western cove where it was less windy (no 10 horse, we only had trolling motor) and didn't see but one. I liked Evergreen and hopefully it is less gusty when I do go there next time! By the way I threw everything in the box at them, something I hate doing but oh well! mike W

Posts: 2024 | Ditto to what Jeff said on hiring Thad. You'd be VERY hard pressed to find anyone that knows that lake better than him. And if saugeye are your thing, pick his brain about that "stuff" too... lol

Posts: 133 Location: BLOOMINGTON,IL | Hopefully going to be fishing Evergreen this weekend again. I have been out the past few weekends throwing a lot of different baits. Has anyone had any luck on any specific baits or colors. I have thrown about everything I own and have not seen a fish. Let me know!!

Posts: 284 | I have fished the past two weekends out there ... we have contacted seven fish total, catching five. 35, 35, 36.5, 37, 41. Having said that we have spent around 40 hours to catch those five fish. There is no real pattern. Three on top, One on a creature bait, one on a tail. Evergreen can be a very tough lake and it is certainly not a numbers lake. Keep casting, you'll figure it out. TH
