| take some time and explore the database being created by our Lax Reproductions Big Fish Contest.
the statistics are very interesting!
contest stats:

angler stats:
http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/cnr_images.asp?view=ustats
a couple of my observations:
1) people are catching some very big fish!
- there have been 481 fish 45" or larger entered in the contest.
- of these, 468 have been caught in the last 2 1/2 years ('05-'07).
- the average size is 48.50" long. this is remarkable considering the minimum to enter is 45" and you would expect the entries to be weighted toward that end.
2) we've got some extremely good anglers who frequent this site.
- there are 198 people who have entered fish in the contest.
- there are 27 people who have 5 or more fish entered in the contest.
3) the top producing lakes are interesting.
- #1 is Lake X (of course since it's a collection of fish from all over the place)
followed by:
- Lake of Woods = 59 fish with an average of 48.54", largest at 55.5"
- Lake Vermilion = 47 fish with an average of 49.54", largest at 55.0"
- Mille Lacs Lake = 37 fish with an average of 48.91", largest at 54.5"
so the next time someone asks "should i go to LotW, Big V, or Mille Lacs..."
our contest stats suggest:
- LotW for numbers of trophy fish
- Vermilion for the biggest fish
- Mille Lacs surprising comes in a third for numbers and second for size
get in on the fun - enter your fish of 45" or larger and you might win a free reproduction from Lax Taxidermy!
