I had an interesting weekend. Up at Mille Lacs and my boat motor trim gets stuck in the down position and won't turn off. Thank God I had the Skep guard on. I disconnected the switch on the motor, but the problem continue. Anyone have a similar problem or know the fix? The motor is a 75 optimax. Thanks BG

Relay inside th cowl stuck? Trim switch on control stuck? Wire shorted somewhere in between?

My money is on the relay. There should be two of them. One for up, one for down. Swap them and see if the problem changes to the up. If so, you need a new relay. If not, you have a wiring/switch issue.

75 Opti should be under warranty yet? There is a way to bypass the trim and tilt if you need to trailer with the motor up. It's in the manual.
