| This may be of interest to you. Red Wing Lodge(http://www.redwinglodge.net/2006muskyhistory.pdf)
has listed their muskie catches for many years out of their resort. I find it interesting that in the past five years (2002-2006) there has been a total of 3,744 muskies reported caught with 37 of those fish being => 50" or around 1% (.99) of the total. This means that on the average you would need to catch 100 fish to get 1 50"er.
The LOTWs is a great place, and there's lots of muskies caught, but the search for a 50"er can be hard at times.

| Eagle has probably a one in 9 fish average. I used to keep VERY good, and accurate records...and the number was like 11.9% or so were 50'+. Does this sound right, or am I in my "left" brain? |

Location: Contrarian Island | at last count Baystore Camp (LOTW) had something like 27 over 50" for this summer alone...
interesting avg Donnie...how many guys go to eagle and get 9 in a week to get that 50?
having spent some time in MN the last 3 years we are running at about 1 out of every 6 fish has been a 50" in the boat..
.if you are purely seeking a 50"er your odds might be better getting in the boat with Greg, Luke or Lee for a few days!

| Brad,
Alot of years are better than others...last year, out of the 17 fish I had in my boat the first week of September, 4 were over 50".(almost 25%) But overall, 1 in 9 is fairly normal I would say for Eagle. One in 6 is incredible....cool to know there are places like that!
I might need to call luke, Lee, or anyone of the bad muskie sticks soon!

Location: Contrarian Island | can't go wrong with any of the ones listed if you ask me...they all are different in their own ways and aren't going to give up 50s as easy as some think....I'm just luckier than most! |
