Location: S.E. Wisconsin | OK so im planning a trip to a system I have never fished before, I contacted the local fisheries biologist for any info and he sent me a catch summary from 03' . Besides getting an idea of what there eating, how can I use this info to my advantage? Im a little confused as there is numbers for fyke netting and boom shocking which are different, could someone elaborate at what this means, the type of water this is, is a small flowage that is shared with another state so I imagine the fish do roam, is there any accurate way of finding a fish per acre calculation? Thanks for any insight. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Fyke nets and boom shocking are indicators of the population in any body of water that are coupleled with stoxcking data, Creel census, and other information to get a grip on the system's population. Shocking is a notoriously tough deal with muskies, because they can dive out of the field before they succumb and are known to zing out of the way the minute they feel a tickle of juice. |
