I had the pleasure of fishing with Nick Cammarata and his wife Kathy on the Fox Chain last night. Just before I left I made him a DC-10 lungen-Tale in an old school custom color. We have done quite well with other lures in this pattern. It took Nick all of about 20 casts before it got smoked!! After about 5 times boat side, I had her half in the net and the rest of her finally flopped “in’” for once!! What an incredible story for the 3 of us, big 48” Illinois fish and a lure less than an hour old. Plus, Kathy hooked 2 while her lure dangled next to the boat between casts, jigging Llungen-tails!?! Hmhmh
I have fished with some of what I consider the best on the chain: Tom Olson, Scott Jenkins, Russ Schaller, and the man Sean Bermingham. I must say they now have some company. I haven’t fished the chain much over the past few years, and some things have changed. Nick who is there about 4-5 times per week sure has them dialed in. We (not me, I suck) saw about 8-9 fish, and hooked about 6 fish in 6-7 hours of fishing over 2 days. I fished out there prior on my own and nota sniff. Just goes to show the guides who are serious stay on the fish. Anyway, I just wanted to share this cool story of a lure maker and a fishing guide.
This isn’t the most prosperous business in the world but the friends you meet and the stories you share are priceless.

Have a great Summer and Fall

Keith

Nice report Keith!

Fished with Nick numerous times and have to say he is a class act. 1st time fishing with him he caught a nice 46.5 incher not quite the "legal" but nice to say the least. He puts his time on the water and it clearly shows. DC-10 ehhh! Boeing and Musky lures, scary thought LOL!!!!!!! May need to get me one..............................

Beautiful Fox Chain big girl. It's awesome to see when someone who puts in the time gets rewarded with a sweet fish like that.

Nice Fish Nick, Good to see all the hard work you put in pay off.

Keith I wouldn't say you suck, I remember someone putting a 46 and a 48 in the boat during a tournament.

Take care Ben
