Location: Kronenwetter, WI | This really sucks----on Saturday around 12:15 in the AM I released a ski on Arrowhead Reef on Vermilion. It was dark and of course chaotic in the boat.
After the release, I looked for my brand new KT Pro-Edge 8-6 Heavy loaded with a Luna and it was gone. I had just caught that fish on it and at some point it went overboard. I'm sure it floats.
Searched for it for 40 minutes with a spotlight---no luck.
If ANYONE hears or knows of someone who found this rod, please let me know.

When I'm up next week I'll drag a jig around and try to snag it for you... or at least boat a nice fish in your Honor.

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | well..I doubt they float...they usually hang around for a second or two and then down they go. You would be best off going to that exact spot and dragging the bottom with a bulldawg ( worked for me last year) |

Location: Watertown, MN | I am sure someone snagged it, as there was only 5-6 boats on the reef at any given time this weekend. I am sure the fat cork of the Keith rod would keep it up. I have never seen so many people on spots before, it was like rush hour running on Vermillion at nite. I have never been cut of so many times, having people pull in 50' in front of the boat and start working the same structure. So if the people fishing on Vermillion have no ethics for fishing spot I would not hold my breath on seeing it again. I hope someone will find her and give you a call, my buddy is up there all week I will give him a heads up.

| I agree it wont stay submerged long I was with troy and Ithink at one point we counted 8 boats on that reef,,,somebodys cowgirl will snag it, hopefully a internet guy |

Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | I know how your feeling, the same thing happened to me trolling. I had forgot to grab one of the normal trolling rods and put into action my casting rod in it's place. With 3 rods in the holders I turned to see the rod slip out of the holder and slowly sink out of sight. I searched for an hour hoping to see the floating Bagley, and with the grace of and luck on my side there it was, the bait floating about 8"s under the water. What a relief to have the combo back with a lot of line to re-spool, but a feeling well worth the time.

Some rods will float, I think the weight of the reel has a lot to do with it.
I was on LOW a few years ago, and my 7 1/2' all star went overboard.
I had a 6500 on it, and it floated on top the water for quite awhile. I don't know how long, but we didn't notice it until the fish was unhooked/measured/released etc.
The same rod with a 7000 on it sank like a rock, as I purposely investigated whether or not it would float.

| Yes, some of them certainly float! DJohnson and I dropped one of mine off the back of his boat this spring, proceeded to the next spot quite a ways upstream, turned around immediately, and recovered it floating on the surface. I do not remember which rod it was, but it was either a smaller Calcutta or Garcia 5600 for a reel, both on the light side in the realm of musky reels. I don't think we caught a fish but obviously I had some luck going that day. |

That is the second story like that this year for sticks that I have built. I should stop putting jumping beans in the fat cork.
If it is not found PM and we can work something out.

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | The custom KT Professional Edge's with the fat cork handles definitely float. Here's mine. One has a Luna 300 and the other a Calcutta 400TE.
Hope you get your custom KT back.

Those are some nice stick, but I really like your custom rod that you letting the other guy behind you borrow, nothing works cowgirls better than the Zebco 303.

Location: Elk River, MN | I agree with Keith's rods floating. He made me a 8' jerk bait rod and when I was throwing a magnum bulldawg the trigger set on my 400 TE reel and the whole rod went flying out of my hands into the water. Trolled to it reached over and grabbed it. |

| This may sound stupid but maybe a fish grabbed it.. I had a buddy in the boat this year set his rod down for a brief minute, the lure was dragging in the water, when he looked down he had a fish following... |
