Okay, so if there was one photo that summed up my life, this would probably be it. I can't help it, they need hugs and kisses too! Had a great evening of fishing with these two dandies.

Yes, dumb because we all have seen muskies lunge out of nowhere and bite us, much like an alligator, especially when we are anonymous guests.

GREAT PICS bro.

Yeah...like 62 stitches in my face would make me any uglier! Sorry dude, I've exceeded that limitation already. I doubt the ramifications of getting bit in the face won't have nearly the long-term affect of throwing 2 pound bulldawgs and I haven't quit doing that either. Lighten up, only a frog's rear is suppose to be that uptight. People get struck by lightning too...

Great pictures. It's great to see these big WI fish.

You do seem happy and affectionate. I'm sure the musky could tell you were going to give it a chaste kiss. It wouldn't bite knowing you weren't coming at it to shove your tongue down its throat like some smelly cheese eating surrender monkey.

I didn't fall in, just hot as hell and felt like a dip. Phil Schweik was guiding out on the water too and DID fall in trying to push his boat off a log. I guess he was in the boat as fast as he fell out. No pics! He did boat a nice 45" right by me too. Topraiders were on fire as was a prototype bait I'm building. As far as me being a dork... wouldn't have my life any other way. I'm a blessed man and thank God for it everyday.

Thanks TJ, It's amazing how nobody cared about my face when I played Rugby. I would think that Sarah would care about my face more than anyone seeing that she has to wake up to it every morning. She laughed, thought it was cute, we had dinner and she has forgotten about it, I think guest should too.

Personally, I'd love to have scars on my face from a muskie that attacked me! What a story those would make!

Muskydr,

Yeah, I'm still a Gander rat. I'm leaving my position as Archery/Firearms Manager at Green Bay and moving back to Wausau in a few weeks. Sarah and I bought a house. My parents are in Mosinee and her family is in Tomahawk so it makes sense to be closer to them and the Wisconsin River.

Sloan, your a dork, see you on Sunday.

Best musky pictures I've seen! I always wanted to do that, but I figured one probably WOULD try to bite my face off, and then I'd have to tell everybody what happened and listen to them tell me how stupid I am....

Getting in the water with them, when fesible is cool.
This fish that I caught took some extra reviving, and my daughter and I walked around with her on the sandbar that we drifted up on until I was certain that she was all set to take off down the break and out of the way of passing boats. My daughter held her by the tail for several minutes, and then we just walked along with her for about another 10 before she decided to go deep. She thought walking with a muskie was waaay cooler than petting a stingray or shark at The Mall of America.
I also dove in after a 46"er that popped to the surface 30 seconds after being released. I thought she was ready to go, but when she popped up, I wasn't going to have her get run over while swimming on the surface. I grabbed her by the tail and held on to her for at least 10 more minutes before she took off hard.
Hell, if the water isn't cold, a dip and some up close time with a fish is a cool experience. My daughter still talks about it, and it was many years ago.
Looks like I caught her in Florida.
