Location: Wausau, Wisconsin | Until last year, I was unaware of an organization in Gleason, Wisconsin called Kippenberg Creek Camp for Kids. This organization is one of the only camps in the country to allow entire families with children that suffer from terminal illnesses to go hunting and fishing together.
Last Saturday, Hooksetters and Halfmoon Bar organized our first outting volunteering our time on the water with these families. Needless to say, Phil Schweik, John Sparbel, Jason Przekurat, the President of the D.C. Everest Fishing Club and I had not only a memorable day of fishing, but perhaps a life changing experience. While this isn't related to muskies, and there's no giant fish pictures, I think it's an awesome opportunity to let everyone know how just a little bit of time can make a huge difference in this world. Take a moment and take a kid fishing. If need be, put the musky rod down for a few hours and pick up a bobber, it's better than a musky.
