it's becoming seasonal to me now and starting to wonder if cost of protecting a keel with a protector is worth it if you have to replace the #*^@ keel protector every year. i've got the rubber-type aftermarket keel protector and they aren't cheap ... last year i tore it up and i knew why and thought, well that was a smart idea, and then this year i noticed it was torn and i'll of course need to do something again ... i don't remember hitting anything? ... maybe roll on a stump or something, but there's got to be a better solution out there .... any ideas on better products ???? at least than the one i'm using ... it might get to the point where the cost of replacing keel protectors might just be worth the deductable to fix the boat if i really hit hard ...

If you run a glass boat, check out the Hambys keel guards. Not cheap, but you should only need to do it once. They are actually glassed right to the hull.
