generally how many bucktails can you make with a deer tail?im trying to decide if i should go with deer tails or rubber skirts for my bucktails. and how many can you make with a 10' piece of rubber? and should it be the round rubber or the living rubber? thanks for the help

I generally figure about 1 1/2 - 2 feet of round rubber per bait depending how long you want to make your skirt. Remember that there will be some waste at the ends when you cut the rubber strips apart. As far as deer tails, It really depends on how good the tail is you get. How long the hair is depends on lots of things. Some tails can make lots of baits, some have only enough good hair on them to make a few baits. You have to hunt around to see who has tails that you are happy with. So far I have been pretty happy with the ones I get from Moore's lures.
