Location: LOTW every chance I get | Just wondering if anybody has any experience with trolling Suicks, or other jerkbaits for that matter. I have read of people doing this, but I am not sure what kind of speed to run them. Any other tips/success stories appreciated.

Location: Green Bay, WI | I have tried trolling a Bobbie Bait, and it worked just fine. I never caught a fish on it, but I trolled it. Every once in a while I gave it a jerk to get it to rise slightly (on the pause). It sure looked good next to the boat, lol.
I have an In-Fisherman musky video where Doug Stange catches a musky trolling a Bobbie Bait; so it obviously works.

Location: Racine, Wi | Run fast and hang on. If we're trolling suicks, we're moving 4.5-5.5 and rip'n them pretty good. Gotta have a suick that's tunned good though, or it'll blow out easy.
You'll have some sore arms, but you'll get them to bite. Good for covering flats fast. |

| I've caught fish trolling a bobbie but my fish have mostly come off sharp turns (i.e. when I'm turning the boat and the bait is going very slowly) which makes me think a ~2mph would be better than the 3.5 my motor trolls at easily. Something about the rythm of the dives or the way the bait runs I guess... |

| Ive caught a handful of fish trolling suicks. Make sure you use the unweighted ones,they collect too many weeds. We would troll around 4 mph. Works great but wears you out after a while. |

Location: Oregon | I have sold many of my BeerBelly gliders to guys in Europe trolling with them for pike...one fellow sent me a video showing several very nice fish being landed on the lure. Keep in mind tho that not all gliders will troll well...if you cast it out and it swims back great on a straight retrieve then it will probably make a decent troller also.

Location: Racine, Wi | Jed brings up a great spring pattern for covering shallow flats. We've been trolling drop belly gliders behind planer boards with some pretty good success early on before the weeds get to be a mess on the surface. (they kill the action pretty fast and you have to keep cleaning them every few minutes).
The waves do some killer things to those baits in this case. You could even run gliders off boards, while ripping suicks, and shortlining sledges, making an all jerkbait spread. Dude, I think I might have to try that. lol |
