I can't get the cotter pin out without having to gouge the bait. Am I doing something wrong? Do you push or pull the eye to loosen it?

Thanks,
Jeff

cut the hook off and then use split rings to put new hook on

Split rings wreck the action on reef hawgs especially the 6 inch model! I cut off the hook and use a very small flat blade screwdriver to pry up the bent over portion of the cotter pin on top of the bait then straighten and push from the top down pin will slide out...first ones always the hardest then after you do a few it will be easy as pie...again do not put on split rings, thats why they sell the cotter pins!
