Posts: 812 | It's a Cobbs for sure, it looks like the 8" model with a "slope nose" I also asume it likely floats too. It's also a glider, it may need more weight to be a true glider, but if it floats it should actually work similar to a dive-and-rise bait and have a nice shimmy.

Posts: 663 | I don't think it's a Cobb's but could be wrong. Looks more like a Big Fork Sand Cat to me. The action you describe (more like a Suick) would also fit but the paint pattern is a bit different than those I usually see. Jack Cobb does not have a website as far as I know.

Posts: 55 Location: SW Michigan | I made a very similar one patterned after an old 6 inch Cobbs. It floats, but if you work it fast can get 3 feet or so of depth. Or work it slow on the surface. It still has that side to side motion of a glider & a great belly roll. It actually has abit of a shimmy on a long pull, but I like to give it short taps like a glider. Pretty versatile design. Broke it in on a 34" a few weeks ago, but lately since the water warmed up it kinda died out.

Posts: 117 | see i think it might be a Cobb lure because of the design paint job... seems like i seen other Cobb baits that have the same look. another little info on it is that it is 8in in length and more than 3oz. So i guess it is a glider? still curious

Posts: 812 | This is a Cobbs, I'm 100% sure it is. I have a friend who collects the older Cobbs and this one is exactly like one I sold him. This is an older one before Jack put his name on the bottom of his lures.

Posts: 392 Location: KY | It looks just like a Cobb's. I have six in various shapes and sizes. They were common in the shops around Cave Run a few years ago. Older Cobb’s had the slope nose. Newer models feature a round nose. All of mine have a decal on the bottom under the clear coat that reads “Cobb’s Countdown” except for one. It is a floater that has a red stamp that reads just “Cobb’s”. It also has the slope nose. The coundowns are your classic glide baits. The floater works more like a hybrid between a dive and rise and a glide bait. It floats at rest, dives when pulled, and with short twitches has a nice side to side with wobble. The one significant difference other than decals that I see between the Cobb’s that I have and the bait in the pictures is that it has cotter pins while all of mine have screw eyes.
