Location: Elk River, MN | Fished the two days of WMT this weekend - Bone Lake, WI & Yellow Lake, WI. Tom who runs this tournament is a heck of a nice guy and runs an exceptional tournament. I would recommend if your looking for a WI tournament this year to check it out or consider for next year.

Location: Elk River, MN | 2 fish on Bone and 2 on Yellow. Both fish on Bone were 42 3/4". Yellow had a 45" and a 44". We had 5 blowups / follows on Bone and 6 blowups and a couple follows on Yellow but couldn't stick one. We chased a 51"-52" on Yellow for about 20 minutes but could not get it to bite. If we would have caught that fish we would have won over $20k. The 50" pool was at $11k alone.
We also found what I thought was a huge pike rolled over on Yellow on the bottom of the lake in 3' of water. I grabbed it with the net and once I got it in the net it rolled over and was alive. I pulled it out and put it on the board - it was a fat 48". We tried to revive it but it would just roll over - she would not go. It was a shame!! |
