Anyone have more details about these plans? My understanding is they will drain the lake, leave the main river channel (Flambeau?), do some shoreline reconstruction and various other "renovations" all within the next five years or so.

Just wondering if anyone has more info.

All Flambeau flowages have as much potential as any WI river flowages. Best musky spot, from shore or canoe is little falls/ slough gundy, off of , i believe Cty M. Just south of the prison camp. My Pb came from there (45"). Raised fish big enought to make you "make doody" in your pants, whether you fished shield lakes, or wherever.

The restoration project will be completed this summer. Draw down begins within the next few weeks, fill it back up late summer/early fall.

For more details, contat the Rusk County Wildlife Restoration Association. Or Call Rusk County Chamber of Commerce for more information. The person in charge is Jerry Carrow.

Hi all,

I was there this past weekend. The draw down starts on july 9th and construction on the dam and the lake will take until the end of Sept. They are drawing the lake down 30 feet and it will take some time for it to recover to normal levels.

On a side note we did catch 4 fish and water temps climbed close to 80 degrees. My daughter who is 11 lost two fish we only fish on Friday cause of the heat and had to return to Chi town on Sat.
