I woke up at 3:00am to 2 kids frantically pounding on my door. I thought they were trying to break into the house. SO naturally I was about to jack them until in my slumbering mode I figured out what they were saying. “Dude your boat is on fire……” I ran out and from under the cover flames were shooting everywhere. I got the hose and esoxadict got his (he is my neighbor). By this time he was a woken by the bangs and pops of the gas tank exploding and the oil can popping. However, with 20+ gallons of gas it was no use. The fire department came 7 minutes later in which time the entire boat became a blaze torching the truck that was parked next to it. When I went to move the truck the heat on the inside was to much for me to swing my leg of the center console to hit the brake to shift it into neutral. About 30 sec after that the windows blew into the truck. I figure better safe then sorry. When the fire was out the fire chief was asking me questions. At that time I was still out of my mind as my custom toughy was sitting lifeless. I put the cover on at 7:00pm. I left the boat out all week to dry out as I fishing on Sunday in a down poor. I thought I may have turned on electric switch that causes a shot when I was putting the cover on. Then esoxaddict said, “Dude where is your kicker?” Then we pieced everything together. The main motor was hanging on by a thread. The jack plate was un bolted and all the wires, steering cables and gas lines (what was left) were all cut). Bastards were steeling both of my motors from right in front of my house! Apparently, when they took off the kicker that was feed from the main gas tank (That was locked to the boat with a bracket that is still there) they spilled a good amount of gas. When they cut the steering cables and electric lines going to the 150hp that let out a enough of a spark to ignite the gas line and Boom…

So if you see anybody with a 98 9 hp 4 stroke mariner that doesn’t match there main motor be suspicious for me and see if it has a big rub on the side where the handle is.

Now I have no boat, no truck, and am short about 10 baits, 1 custom rod. Lucky since I was leaving it out to dry, I took out my tackle and seats, as I was trying to keep the honest people honest….. So much for that. In the attempt to take a 4000 worth of motors they cost my 30K and I’m sure a life time of higher insurance.

That is, by far, the most disgusting thing I have ever seen on the internet. I feel sick just looking at that, so I can only imagine what you must be feeling. I hope things turn around for you. You always got a spot in my boat, brother.

That really bites the Big One, Hope the Police can find them.

On the lighter side if it still floats Sell it to Esoxaddict, it's still better than what he has now

And this is EXACTLY why we pay our insurance premiums. At least some people do. Steve

That sucks I hope they cathc the inbreeds who did it but odds are they have nothing so even if they are caught you aren't going to get anything out of them. They will probably get a slap on the wrist for steeling your kicker and that's it. Trully sad!

If theyare caught the Prosecutor could add arson to the charges, that then would require a much stiffer sentence when found GUILTY

They could ad arson but odds are that the fire was not intentional, it was probably because they didn't know what they were doing.

That Sucks. Thieves should be strung up by their heels and beaten with dead Pike.
