Location: Northern Wisconsin
i know they drained this for dam repairs a year or two ago, did it damage the fishery
at all? did some of the fish swim out or did they put up a barrier as they drained it?
any info on this situation would help.

Call and ask Randy at Northwoods in Iron Mountain - 906-774-9009. Or the nearest DNR, which I think is right there in Crystal Falls, like 10 miles south of Paint Pond.

It is a good river with some nice spots for fish. Lots of stumps.

The lake is back in fine shape. Caught on musky accidentally walleye fishing this spring (~40"). Have been getting lots of northerns in the cabbage and bends in the river. Haven't seen any big muskies yet but they're there. Have fun and be safe out there if you go. Stumps area little tougher to see since the water level is up a bit.

I know this place is well off the beaten path, jut have a question about the ramp, how well recieved would an illinois lisence plate be there?
