Fished Monona and Waubesa yesterday. Surface temps 78 - 82. Blooms on both lakes, much worse on Waubesa, which looks like pea soup on the South end. West side (in front of Christie's) is unfishable due to floating goop, milfoil is up to the surface a lot earlier than the last few years in many places. All action was early and late, nothing moving between 11:00 and 5:00. Saw two, caught two, lost one.

Did I mention it was stupid-hot out there?

Nice clean looking fish. Haven't fished that chain since my first year at this crazy sport but I remember it being a good time.

Now there is a blast from my past. I grew up fishing waubesa and it's panfish and christies was our lunch stop.

i fished Monona on Friday from 4:30pm-12:30am with 2 buddies.

water temps in the low 80s until late night when the were down to 77; the water is very green but still good clarity and fishable although there is a ton of boat-chopped milfoil floating around to deal with.
around 11pm we had a boat come by us about 20' away, so it's not just during the afternoon that they'll buzz ya. i asked what he was doing and he muttered "sorry" before driving off.

we tried pretty much everything, pretty much everywhere.
did not see a single follow and we were starting to curse the lake for a dead sea when finally i popped this 33 1/2" on a depthraider off the weeds in 10-12 fow on Turville point at 11:45pm.

it was hot. did i mention it was hot? it was hot.

I fished Waubesa on Friday 6/22. I got this very feisty 44"er on a homemade bucktail. She was right on the weed edge. She came in hot, abruptly turned away at the boat and came back with a vengeance and smoked it on my second figure eight We had a little window where we had 4 nice fish up in about twenty minutes. Ten minutes before catching this one I had a fish up that dwarfed it, very fat 48" class fish.

Water temps were 74 degrees.
