I know it has been discussed before to some extent but I want to bring it up again as I'll need to address it this year with my new rig. I have an lcx 111 in back and 332 or lcx 25 up front. I really would prefer to/need to keep both charts running and both transducers on as fishing the waters I do, the depths can vary greatly from the front to the back. That said, the seller of the boat said he had alot of noise/interference when using both, and to much to use them when over 18' of water. Just wondering if anyone has found a way to combat this so I can use both units with both transducers on at the same time. My cousin has two lms 15s and has no problems. what gives with the new ones?

I got a new flasher mounted in the dash and the "shop" put the new transducer 2" away from the first one and they both gave false readings until I moved one.
Now they both work just fine.

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | Are they run off of the same battery? That can cause interfeirance (sp) as well. Also, when the front finder (or any finder) is run on the same battery as the Trolling motor, It can have a "blonde moment" when adjustments are made to the trolling motor. Food for thought. |

Location: north central wisconsin | one transducer on the bow mount and the other on the transom. Both units are on starting battery now, but I usually prefer the front unit to the starting battery and the transom to the trolling motor battery. The battery thing doesn't usually make them go whacky because of each other. The battery deal just gives me noise from other electronics. Thanks, I'll take that into consideration. |

Location: Hayward, WI | If both are running the same frequency transducers you can get some interference, usually just at certain depths. On other post you were talking about getting a new trolling motor, if you get a univeral sonar it usually will not have the interference issues. |

Location: north central wisconsin | Actually I tried running an Eagle and a Lowrance in my old rig, with the bow unit through universal sonar, and the interference was such that I had to switch back to my Vexilar up front. I might just have to do this with the new rig too... |

| Jason you should be fine..if you get a new minn kota w/ universal sonar you should be fine...
I run a 102c up front and 332c at the console...no problem with interference what so ever...

| I had interference on my last boat with the 111 and an X-51 up front if I was in 18-20' or more. It was not so much that I couldn't interpret the sonar, but I'm used to it. If you want to eliminate the interference, use a dual freq transducer on the 111, and set it to 50KHz. The front will be on 200KHz. You won't get the same performance from the 50KHZ, but you can always switch it when you're using the back one only. |

| if he runs the universal sonar of the minn kota i believe those are different freq. than the other unit will be...my 2 can both be on and i get zero interference...
i'm betting it works with the new terrova ..

I have the universal sonar and I have had the issue along with others that I know that have had interference with there console unit and the unit at the bow of the boat. I don't know if I have heard of anyone that hasn't had any kind of interference at all with running two sonars at the same time. It may not happen a lot but the problem still does exist. |

there are things you can change within the units settings that i would be a lot of people don't do or don't do right...

Location: north central wisconsin | Right now I run a vexilar up front with zero interferance with my lowrance in back. Maybe the power is such that it doesn't make an impact. I'll try a few settings with my lcx 25 up front and 111 in back. Will post results. |

| OK,
Just got rigged with the dual cone transducer in the universal sonar 2. Will running a different cone frequency cut down on noise i.e running the front unit in 80 and rear in 200..? I am contemplating putting the Lowrance back up front to try it, and was wondering if anyone had any better success with two different frequencies running vs. one.

| Before buying a new transducer, play around with the Ping rate on the units. Sometimes that eliminates most of the interference. Try it on both units and you might just come up with the right setting. |
