Opening morning found the air a bit chilly, and water temperatures ranging from 63-66 degrees. I met one of D. C. Everest’s excellent teachers, Mr. Jeffrey Bergstrom, at the landing a shade before 5am and we headed out onto the water. Jeff and I fished from 5-9am and boated a nice pike as well as a 38” musky on a Buchertail; in addition, we had action from 3 other fish that we couldn’t get hooks into. A beautiful morning with excellent company - it feels great to throw baits again!

Tight lines,
Joel
