I change out all my mono line every year and the power pro every two. How long do you think flurocarbon is good for?

It really depends. As long as it is not nicked up or abrated in any way keep using it. So many factors to consider, rocks, snags, fish's teeth seem to determine the life of a leader moreso than it's age.

I start every season with new flouro leaders because I'm not sure how they degrade with time, heat, light, etc.

Look at them under some type of magnifier for nicks or frays. This will give you a good idea of the condition. I try to exchange fluro every season by saving the snap and swivel and replacing the fluro with new or differnet lb test.

As line, if you keep it in a semi-cool place, but not below freezing, OUT OF THE SUN, Fluoro lasts a long time!

As a leader, I generally get John Bette to tie up 5 or 6 for the year...and they last me all season. At the end of the year, I have 5 or 6 real nice snaps and real nice swivels! I deep-six the line. I then retie my own, or have John do some more!

Hope this helps!

Donnie
