I found these on Cabelas web site as well as the Rod Saver product. The RodLoft Pros look better, and while not cheap, I'm thinking they'll help me get by my rod storage shortage in the boat.

Anyone have experience with this or other products for the same purpose?

I use a BPS rod carrier, the one that sells for around $40. It's like a 7' softside guncase. You can move 6 or so rods to or from boat all at once.

VERY nice! This is exactly what I've been looking for so I can use the vertical space in my Expedition! Thanks for posting!

Those ARE cool! Now if they could only figure how to fit 8' rods in a 6' pickup bed...

My setup is very similar to the link that you posted. I can hold 6 (maybe 8) rods at a time in my Suburban.

I found the holders at Gander Mountain. I think they were called Rod Ready or something like that. I had to buy two of them and put them together to hold the number of rods I wanted, but it still cost me less than the ones you are looking at. I think it was $80 when I was all done.

I will see if I can find a box and give you more info. Otherwise, I'll try to take a pic one of these days and shoot that to you.

Thanks Baldy, I'll hit Gander after work and check out their selection.

A concern I just started thinking about is air bags in the SUV. I'm going to review the side curtain air bags and the front air bags to see if those deployed, what situation I'd be in. I'd hate to interfere with the proper operation of the air bags or be skewered by my fishing rods in the event of an accident.

Stopped by the Gander Mountain in Brookfield, WI. I was told they don't have it but a larger store might. Baldy, if you could post more info, that would be great.

I was just at Gander Mountain here in Maple Grove. They have a bunch of the units I bought.

They are called Rod Ready and are made by Impact Sports out of New York. That is all the info I could get off the packaging.

That's it. I bought two and combined the holders on one set of poles. Cost me $80 when all was said and done.

update regarding sourcing the Impact Sports RodReady product through Gander Mountain. The person I talked to at the Brookfield, WI store was able to tell me this product is on clearance, and if the stores still have them, they are $29.97. He gave me the stores in the area that still have them according to their records (Janesville, Appleton, and Kenosha).
