We'll see if I can get the pix to attach. If not I may need some help. Cowgirl in a couple of the pix for size reference. Double 10's, double 8's, single 8's, & single eight fluted Indiana. So far just sold a few to friends. Headed to Canad next week to get some extended testing in.

Tried to attach. got message that attachments must be less than 100KB. Just looked & all of mine are 600 - 800 KB. Any ideas on how to get them on here?

see if your photo program has a 'save as' feature that will, as part of the process, allow you to select the quality of the image being saved. Then, 'dumb it down' and try it again., m

I cannot do that with my software. They are in a jpeg. Can anyone out there do anything with that? I can e-mail the pix.

If you have PowerPoint jsut place them on a slide and then make the picture smaller. Then right click and save as jpeg. Nice work around if you don't have Photoshop or like me,,, have Photoshop and don't know how to use the $500 program

Use MS Paint (every Windows computer has it; Programs > Accessories). Open the file, go to Image > Stretch/Skew. Input whatever percentage you want it to shrink to, and click OK. Then Save As and save it as a JPEG.

Anyone with a Windows computer can easily resize a picture this way. Take a minute to figure it out.

Those look great! Nice way to fill up your tackle box for half the price! Also, it is just a great feeling to catch a fish on something you made yourself... My big payoff someday will be to watch my kids catch fish on lures I made or made with them.

I have lots of other color combos too. These are just a few. I may take picture of the wall in my basement where I have all of them hanging including the silicone ones I make. As with most pix, they are a little duller than what they reallky look like. They look much better in person, much, much better in the water with some sun shining on them, & even better than that with a fish on the hook.

I wouldn't attach the first hook with a clevis because it will break. Use split rings instead.

yep, you have a good start with the split ring on there, but you should definitely go with 2 rings instead of a ring and a clevis.

I would put that second hook behind the flashabou, not in the middle of it. That stuff loves to tangle in the hooks.

thanks for the input on the clevis. I guess I have been lucky in the past as I have not had one break yet. Have been making them with silicone skirts for about 7 years with no issues to date. Must have hooked them all on the back hook. LOL.looks like i will be cutting clevis & swapping for split rings prior to our trip.

I looked through the few hair bucktails that I still have, & Buchertails have a clevis up front too. I think that is where I got the idea from originally. I think I will still switch over, since the clevis does not have a lb rating listed & all split rings do.

If nothign else a split ring also has a little more play.

Peagle,
Much stronger clevis on those and a single hook has less torque. Steve

always funny to watch all those guys whit wolverine splitring who test more than the braid they use,or the hook a decent clevis will never break, big fish or not!if you lost some fish on its time to change for a better dealer,or set your drag less tight.

Peagle, as Steve said all things are not under the same loads/forces. Fishing line will only be subjected to tensile loads whereas hooks, split rings, eyes, etc can and will see bending moments (torque), which can account for most failures. If I was to design walkways, lifting devices, etc based on a single rating like you mentioned I would end up killing people. I will take a picture of a Believer I have from last fall where a fish almost pulled it apart and I was spooled with 65lb test! You have to consider the different forces and loads that are applied to fully understand what is required, then there is a safety factor that is always fudged in there.

Just my $0.2

I almost forgot.. you are right with setting your drag based on the lure. When I down size baits (using larger bass baits) the components are sometimes also downsized so I will back off my drag some. I just recognize that some of my baits are less robust than others.

LoneTree have you popped anyfish on your girls yet?? I made some myself and I'm having trouble with the finer tencil. It seem's to tangle more and the thicker tencil get's bent and deform's easily. I would love to get my hand's on some medium size stuff that had some great flexibility. How are yours holding up?

Thanks
cpr

Just got back from Canada. All lookers & no takers. Saw 19 different muskies, with my dad getting the only hit a jackpot, swing & a miss. Mine got a little tangled with the front hook. May try and put it behind the flashabou to see if it makes a difference. The tangling did not seem to hurt the action or interest from fish though.
