Subject: Adding power handle to Abu Garcia

If I add an Abu Garica power handle to my 6500, will the original handle nut and cover work, or will I need to get those that come with the power handle? The 6500 is a newer one, with the soft grey handle paddles.

I think you will have to use the gray one. I don't think the distance is the same on both handles.

What's the matter with using the gray cap?

If you do not have the cover, you can use your existing one with a simple modification. Just cut the side edges off flush with the main cover and it will work just fine.

Hey Gerard,

I can get just the handle for $13.50 shipped, but don't want it if I need more parts.

Now that I thought about it, the nut will work, and thanks Steve, I'll just "custom fit" the old cap.

Eric you can get the handle with the parts you need at Dorn for that price after you get your MI discount.
