Keep up the reports. I myself am getting tired of trying to work a jerkbait over many inches of ice. It kinda wears on the paint job. [] |

  | March 7th proved to be a banner day w/ temps in the 60s, light breeze + baitfish on the flats....an exceptional day for my Dad, 72 yrs old who nailed a 41" 34 lb rockfish on a Mirrorlure....had 9 7"-10" gizzard shad in it's gullet! Who says fish don't eat on a full belly! Brother landed 3 between 12-18 lbs + lost several more....spongebabe was sick + I had to pick up little sponge + missed the whole daggone thing[:(] Check out www.santeecoopercatfish.com...click on 2002 pictures...click the 4th pic from the left top row(2 guys) + the guy on the right caught a 50lb. flathead yesterday...I work w/ him + he called in for a "stress day"....ended up w/ a MONSTER!!! Life is better for some than others![;)] [:sun:] |

  | Rare day off results in 2 rockfish 14 + 17 lbs. + 1 4lb. L-mouth this morning....found gizzard shad on a flat + bingo...bad part was dragging the daggone things 2.5 miles back to the truck as I humped to the upper end of the lake...w/ the water down 25' one can get closer to the channels/roadbeds. worth it though as I got a good workout, will have cajun fish + went ahead + made Red Steak + rice + a pot of Tenderloin Stew...if you guys want to try the Red Steak/Rice I'll give you the recipe....it is ONE BUTT-KICKING cajun feast that will keep you warm for a day or so![:sun:] |

  | Ok dude here it be...
 Large crockpot
1 can of Constadina Roasted Garlic Tomatos
 2 packs of venison steaks
BIG jar of Cayenne Pepper(hot sauce can be substituted)
1 large coffee cup of h20, about a full reg. glass
 Seasoned Flour, 3 heaping spoonfuls
 Onion Powder
 Salt/Original spike Seasoning
*** Cut up deer steaks into small pieces...pour in can of tomatos, water + stir in pot...while water is still somewhat cool, stir in 1 spoonful of flour at a time SLOWLY + try to prevent lumping....pour in as much salt/onion powder as you like + stir...taste for personal like then dump as much Cayenne pepper as you can stand + add meat...keep on low heat for 2 hrs then crank it up on high for 2 grs...check to make sure there is enough h20 to cover meat...stab a piece of meat + check for doneness....serve over rice, corn bread is good w/ this too! I think that's all I do...I hope...anyway try it anyhow. Let me know how it tastes...I got some more recipes! [:sun:] |
