Posts: 550 Location: So. Illinois | Way too much (2 large tackle boxes and 3 smaller bags). This year I am going to make an effort to take only a few lures at a time and use some discipline. I change way too often. I will probably continue to take a large compliment of rods.

Posts: 139 | 3 rods (6'9" H, 7'2" MH, and 8' H), lakewood upright, net, and release tools (always in the boat anyways). Of course this stuff only relates to Musky fishing...I also have the standard fishing equip, ie sun glasses, first aid box, extra clothes, etc.

Posts: 1317 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Good question......depending on the time of year for me,and it helps that i have my baits in storage boxes under the deck,so i really have everything with me other than big trolling baits that i would use in the fall. usually three rods, one for bucktails, spinnerbaits. one for cranks and jerkbaits. and one for gliders and topwater. i have two trolling rods outfitted with line counters that will stay in the boat from summer to the end of the year. i like to have about everything with me just for the fact you never know what mr.musky wants....... ![]()

I need to buy a bigger boat to carry all my crap... 3 lakewoods and many rods.. I generally throw about 3-5 different lures throughout the day, but at least I have 100's as back-ups...

Location: Illinois | I bring about a hundred lures, give or take twenty, and throw between 2-6 of them, depending on what the voices inside my head tell me to throw. I bring 2 to 3 rods and generally use two throughout the course of the day. I like to be over-prepared in case conditions change or I experience a "tackle malfunction" along the way!

I transfer about 20 to 30 lures from Lakewood boxes to Plano 3730's. I have a tackle bag that holds 3 of the 3730's and those will be the lures I use that day. I take three rods, one 6'-9"Heavy St. Croix for jerkbaits, one 7'-6" MH St. Croix for bucktails and small cranks, & one 8'-0" Heavy St. Croix for everything else. I take a medium size boat bag for my rain suit (unless I'm wearing it), jacket or sweatshirt, snacks, bottle of water, etc. I try to limit myself but its' tough. At the beginning of the next day I'll switch a few lures that I may want to try with some that failed (after all it's not my fault, right?) the day before.

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | 3- Jerk bait type Rods, 3 -8ft Rods 1-large Lakewood box( approx. 50-60 lures) 1- mid.sized Lakewood ( for 20+ Dawgs) 8- large Plano boxes (stowed out of the way) another 70-80 baits. 15-18 Must have, Go to baits under pedestal seat up front. Some days I might use 10-15 different baits, and other days I might only use 3-4 different baits. Everything stows out of the way and in its place, and the back of the boat is free of any of "my" stuff except for the net and release tools. Jerome

Posts: 3913 | Jig/creature rod, bucktail rod, glider rod, crankbait/spinnerbait rod, trolling rod. One big Flambeau box for wood and hair, plus one large flat Plano box for the jig/creatures. Big Frabill net. Carry on bag holds first aid kit, camera, rain gear, wool sweater, leaders and creatures. Release tools are always in the boat in tool hangers, likewise big flashlight. Life jacket, of course. Toothpaste to wash my hands. Cat's Eyes lights for the bill of my hat. Sometimes I bring a small carry on bag that holds a 1,000,000 power q-beam plus a mini 12v battery to power it. Last, a golden retirever named, "Shady".
