Location: Davenport, IA | Jerkbaits: .051 bucktail wire (600ish lb)
Everything else: 90 lb nylon coated sevenstrand
Lots of people will disagree with me...there isn't really a right or wrong answer, its all about preference. |

| 174# straight wire for gliders, 60# briaded Sevenstrand for jig/creatures and 80# Climax fouro for every thing else. You should also ask about terminal component details, i.e., swivels, snaps, rings, etc. A 10" 174# straight wire leader with a #4 Stringease snap is a lot different than a 10" 174# stright wire leader with a #6 Stringease snap. |

Location: Lake Vermilion Tower, MN | I use 90 and 120# on all my multiple use leaders and a 200# coated 7 strand wire
for jerkbaits. I use 150# snaps and 200# swivels on all of them.

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | 174# straight wire for gliders is right. My flex leaders are 150# mono. sevenstrand to a rolling musky is what a musky's mouth is to a perch. Sevenstrand kills fish quicker than a moron who thinks a musky is a pike. |

| I just started making my own leaders and bought 174 pound American Fishing Wire. Solid stuff, might be the same Thornes Bros. uses (?).
For more flexible, leader sensitive baits I've been using 80-130 pound fluoro depending on the situation. Got some 100 and 130 that I'll be trying to make my own leaders out of. |

Location: Lake Vermilion Tower, MN | I also use the coated seven strand and it has yet to damage a fish. It also makes it almost
impossible to kink under normal use.
