Donnie Hunt is a mortgage banker for Hartford Financial Services, Inc. in Skokie, IL. This position gives him flexibility to spend a lot of time learning about the great predator, and learn every nook and cranny of his favorite pond. He fishes Eagle Lake, and it’s surrounding underlings primarily. These different lakes provide you with numbers and big fish alike. They include Canyon, Corner, Cliff, Cedar, Indian, and Stewart, just to name a few.
Donnie spends approximately 45 to 70 days on the water. He is looking for the fabled 50 pounder. He has been in contact with some “big” fish, and still believes the world record swims in Eagle.
Donnie used to own and operate Andy Myer’s Lodge alongside Steve Herbeck, from 1993 to 1999, at which time he sold his share of the business to Steve. He has been fishing Eagle Lake since 1987.
Donnie Hunt writes for Musky Hunter, Muskies Inc., and many periodicals. He is a speaker who enjoys giving of his time and knowledge. He has personally caught 12 muskies over 50”s, with three over forty pounds. His favorite bait is the Bull Dawg for good reason….it produced ALL of those over 40.
He’s had the opportunity to share the boat with some of the top names in the business including Steve Herbeck, Tony Rizzo, Steve Heiting, Pete Maina, and too many others to mention.
Donnie Hunt is a strong supporter of catch and release and is a member of Muskies Inc. since 1986. He currently run's a Lund Pro V 1900 Gary Roach SE Model.

| Hey guys, you will really enjoy Rex. He has been great to me and the line speaks for itself. I have turned on many folks fishing stripers out east to it, and it looks as if it may play it's part with other aspects here in NYC. When it comes to a musky line I do not think there is better, there maybe equal, but not better. What puts Rex and Western Filament ahead of the rest is customer service and the constant drive to create new products. I have to work on tues. or else I would chime in. | I had the pleasure to fish with Donnie last year on Eagle....Man knows his stuff! Good chance to pick his brain guys!
To bad I will be at the CAVE thursday night! Now that I think of it I be Steve will have his computer fired up!

| Looks like one of our other muskie boards has started bashing Chuck again. Hope we can give him a good friendly chat. I've seen this before down south, where people get so jealous of a good guide that they must think they can get a leg up by stepping on him. Sad, ain't it?
