Posts: 331 Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Where can I get sure step material? You know the black sure step material (black rubber) typically found on fiberglass boats, usually on the bow deck. I’m looking for this in bulk material and wondering if anyone knows where to get it? I have found small 6”x 12” sure steps at Bass Pro shop but I’m looking for a larger piece. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks, Ed

Posts: 176 Location: Tomahawk, WI | Cabelas has it, its called diamond matting 18" x 30" for $36.99. Pretty expensive, i learned the hardway not to apply over curved surfaces, it just will peel up on you, use on flat surfaces only.

I just picked some up at my local Lowe's. Paid less than $10 for six feet. Look for it in the paint section, by all the masking and duct tapes.

Posts: 8 | rhino line it...works great and will outlast the boat. Tape off where you dont want the material and dab it on. remove the tape before it dries.

Herculiner would work very good for this application, it's very durable very nonslip and will last much longer. We used Herculiner on some of our fire trucks for this purpose and it is holding up very well. It would cost about 50.00 for a gallon and you could use it for many other things as well. I used some on my trailer on the tongue so it is non-slip as well. Edited by MuskieMedic 5/4/2007 2:45 AM

Just orderred some from Cabelas. Looks like the stuff that Ranger uses, and I've always liked it. Going to put it on the bow, where the old trolling motor was, to cover some scuffs.

Posts: 176 Location: Tomahawk, WI | Reef Hawg, watch it, i added this to the bow of my 690, i cleaned it with alcohol really good before application, and it still peeled up. DO NOT PUT ON CURVED SURFACES. Flat surfaces only. I need to redo mine on the bow also. Good Luck
