| Had a fish on last fall that came out of the water 3 times in 10 seconds and finally threw the spoon. I was in an area known for pike. This lake is connected to Lake Michigan. Could it have been a 'ski? Lake is not know for muskies. Thanks. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Yes it could have been. Some areas don't have many at all when compared to acreage, but those fish swim around some!
On the other hand, I have had big pike sky more than once. |

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan | id say it was a northern. I fish there quite a bit and have had lots of pike go crazy and jump a lot, but it could have been a musky; ya never know. |

Michigan side-Muskegon Lake as a matter of fact.
Based on the pike I've caught in there it could have been a jumping pike but... There was a pit tagged Green Bay muskie caught there a couple years ago. The muskies in Macatawa have done quite a bit of travelling up and down the coast too.
One of these days we'll get the restoration program in full swing on Muskegon and White and it the chances of running into a muskie will be better than one in a million. |

| I guess the greasers under thirty inches don't really count, but had some of them jump. The two most memorable pike jumps I've had were both on really nice fish around forty inches, both trolling over deep water, which makes it ever stranger I guess. Both were while muskie fishing and both were down about 22 feet over twice that much water, one on a smaller lake in late June, the other on Lake Nipissing in August. Thought both were muskies, straight into the tail walk way behind the boat before the clicker even stopped. |

Location: Maple Grove, MN | I've had lots of Pike in the low 40 inch range jump. While Pike don't go to the air as often as Muskies, they do occasionally jump and sometimes more than once.
I'm convinced that some Northern Pike actually think they are Muskies. I've also caught some big Walleyes on spinner baits that seemed to be impersonating Muskies. Lots of Bass and many schools of perch have also attacked my Muskie baits. Hmmmm. Something strange going on here. Maybe its me impersonating a Pike/Walleye/Bass/Perch fisherman with a Muskie bait???

Location: Northern Illinois | I guided pike for many years in northern Manitoba, they Jump. Some jump more than others but not an uncommon thing. Ever seen a Pike/Muskie jump out of the water after your walleye. Happens a lot. |
