Pulled a scale sample off an old walleye I found on the shore last week and this fell out. Any idea what the species is? Looks like southwestern US.

No - that picture actually fell out. Must've been there for years judging by the looks of things. I thought it looked human but wanted other opinions. Looks like a species that dwells in the SW United States and can often be seen at hoedowns and square dances. Possibly fluent on the banjo or fiddle. Seems to be covered in a rare plumage of satin and is showing the even less common high hat. If anyone knows the genus/species please respond so I can put it in my field report.

That looks like a Sworrall to me.
But most of you weren't alive when Steve was making the rounds back then.

I was going to say an old picture of Steve too, I am guessing around 1950.

I'll guess 1969. I know he used to live in the SW-US
He doesn't look very happy, or he's on his way to the port-a-potty.

Come on Beav, look at the Hat! I was officially an Official. I think this shot was taken at an early Manufacturers Walleye Council Championship on Minnetonka back in the 80's.
