Time to step up to the plate again boys.
It's been brought to my attention that Rich Belanger's 7 year old son is in need of help. Rich is from St Croix rods, and I'm sure that many of you know him or have talked to him. I'm not able to share details because I don't have them yet, all I know is that he is going to need our prayers, and his family is going to need our help.
Another kid needs our help. If anybody else knows more, please let us know how we can help.

Rich Belanger's 7 year old son, Colin, had surgery Wednesday in Duluth to remove a brain tumor. The doctors were able to remove 95% of the tumor. Unfortunately. the tumor is malignant. They are arranging further treatment.

At this time, Steve Heiting is organizing some type of fund raiser for the Belangers. I'm sure there will be an update on the MH board.

I know we'll all do some prayers for him.

You know, it is bad enough when an adult has such an affliction, but the heart just throbs when you think about the courage it takes for a child to endure this. Seems like there is more of this stuff than there used to be, or maybe the world is just a little smaller with the internet as a communicator. In any event, our prayers are with the boy and his family. m

Howdy Folks,

I'll try to get an update tomorrow.
Thank you all for your concern!

Rich,
My heart goes out to you. I will pray for your boy and family. If a donation is needed let me know, I will give all I can. This board helped my family and grandson when we needed it and I'm sure they will be there for you in your time of need. Take care, be strong and give your son a hug from all of us. WE CARE!!! Let me know how I can help.

The Ashton Fund will be able to make a significant donation to this cause after the May auction. We will simply split the proceeds from that event between the Fund, and a direct donation to Rich's family.

Steve Cady...do you feel we should move the May auction to April considering the immediate needs of Rich's son and family? If so, let's get a board up, and fill it with auction items!![:0]

I have two kids, 8 and 11 years old, and can't imagine how it must be! My family will have you in our prayers!!!

Best of Luck![:halo:]

Divani,
Ashton is doing wonderful! Everyday his scars get less noticeable and his lip looks more like it should have been. He still needs the special bottles as he cannot suckle like regular babies can, his premaxilla (front portion of his upper jaw) prevents it. But after his surgery and the period of healing, he just blossomed. He now smiles and makes goofy noises, prior to surgery, he was always being poked and prodded. Not very condusive to being a happy child. His next surgery is in October when he will be one year old, the surgeon's will build him a soft palate. We'll cross that bridge then. For now he is doing wonderfully. Thanks for your concern.
