When using moon data in fishing, does it make any difference what the moon phase is? I'm not asking about brightness of sky, just setting and rising data.
(I've been told there is no dumb question.)

Yes. There's another thread regarding this issue that was discussed just yesterday, so look a page or two back.

There ARE dumb questions. They all originate from me.

The rise and set is just that. When it is just coming up or just dropping out of site you better be on you best spot.

As for the phase. 2 to 3 days before the full and new moon are my best days. I like the new moon the best but have done extremely well days before the full moon, so they both get my full attention each month.

Also, when the moon is straight over head or under foot it is also a very good time no matter what phase it is.
