Any recommendation on Lakes or family oriented resorts
would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a guide on the
recommended Lake Too. Thanks Dave

Seriously, this will be one of the best weeks you have ever spent away from your crib if you enjoy a beautiful setting and huge muskies and being able to spend time with your family.

I have spent about 40% of my time here in the last 7 years and my kids can't wait to go back every year. We have a blast........ And the fishing isn't bad either!!!

FYI in the last couple years Vermillion has become so pressured you would not believe it - if you want to relax I'd think about a lake a bit off the beaten path.

Check out the Hampton Inn on Lake Bemidji.. Took the family there for several year before we bought our cabin.. Very nice hotel, Green Mill restaurant is next door for food and drinks, lots of little gift shops to keep the wife happy and a huge pool play area to keep the kids happy.. Bemidji is a good musky lake that does not recieve tons and tons of pressure!!

It's true that the fishing pressure has increased in the last few years on Lake Vermilion.

Most of that however is over the weekend. Midweek during Augst isn't bad at all. We have 40,000 acres of water and hundreds of mile of shoreline where you can fish for hours, without another boat in sight.

There are a number of great family type resorts on the lake in all price ranges.

I agree that Vermillion is not busy during the week. I was up there last August and on Thurs. and Fri. and never had problems getting on the spots we wanted. Also depends on which area of the lake you fish.

I doubt you can go wrong on any lake in northern MN during the week.
