Location: On your favorite spot | I've found the Pete Maina Rods from BPS to be tough as nails. The reels, I could take them or leave them, but the rods are tough, and BPS has always stood by their products. I have the 8'6" bucktail/crankbait/trolling rod and it's a very versatile action and length. Probably alot of rods out there in that price category, but I'm happy with this one. |

| Andy, I use the 8'6" Professional Edge Rods built on Diamondback blanks. Diamondbacks are very lightweight, load perfectly, and durable. I believe the rod is around the mid $200 range depending on choice of harware. Lifetime warranty on the hardware and I believe a one year warranty on the blank. I also have used the 8'6" Tica telescoping rod and was impressed, I believe that rod is around$120 not sure on the warranty. |

Location: Davenport, IA | I just got an 8'6" St. Croix Legend Tournament XH. Its rated for 4-10 oz. I plan on using it for mag dawgs, kickin' minnows, lifelike pike, ect. It retails for $340. |

Location: Contrarian Island | check out the ticas they were modeled after the All Star Big Game line I use..they are pretty good rods for 115 bucks..i think thru thornes you can get another 10% off or something for being in muskies inc...they have an xheavy for big stuff and heavy for lighter stuff
or the Pro Edge rods like Kevin said...I got a 9 footer from Keith I can't wait to use....just a bit more dough for those

Location: lansing, il | andy, i used a 8ft heavy professional edge diamondback rod last year and love it, i am having a 8-6 made as we speak! you will not be dissapointed with keiths rods! keith can chime in with his prices im sure! tel him john sent ya not cochran or brad hahahahaa J/K

Check with professional edge custom rods, I recently had Keith build me a 9'3" custom rod out of a St. Croix Legend tournament 8' mega swimbait blank. This rod is awesome to say the least! You certainly will not be disappointed if you buy this same rod.
Another great choice is the new 8'6" St. Croix legend tournament. I haven't bought one of these rods yet, but will soon. This rod will be great for throwing the big stuff!

I don't believe loomis makes a rod over 7'10"...but could be wrong. |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I used Keith's 8'6 one piece Diamondback last year and really love it. I had him build me a 9 footer as well for this year.
You can't go wrong with Keith's rods!!! |

| If keith has to start with a shorter blank, He adds a section of rod blank under the cork to extend it to the length desired. Contact Keith for more details on the process. He built me a 8'6" with a 7'10" XXXH St Croix blank. I can't wait. |
