I'm thinking of replacing my sorry gutter down-spout tackle system in my boat compartments with Dunwright Tackle inserts, lashed together to fit. Can any one give me honest feedback on what they like and don't like about their Dunwright compartments? Thanks. Brian

I have no complaints whatsoever. Being clear plastic, your lures can be seen easily. They are easy to clean and IMO, quite durable. I love the fact that they can be put on the outside of the box where a multitude of lures can be viewed at once.

Posts: 462 Location: Syracuse, Indiana | I have an early version, and have broken a number of them. That said, I am tough on equipment. The clear plastic makes it easy to view baits, and the baits seem secure in the compartments. Just watch how you drag your foot/pants/sleeve against them. I believe later models were better made.

Posts: 1188 Location: Iowa | I love the fact that the dunwright boxes are white on the inside so it is easy to see the baits...and the fact that each compartment is removable...only draw back is they are sooooo dang heavy...worth it though...the last tackle box I'll ever have... Big Perc

So...no issues with lures tangling themselves after a bumpy boat ride? No issues with lures falling down and hooking themselves underneath the compartments? No issues with water staying in the bottom of the compartments and rusting hooks? No issues with the ease of removing the lure you select? No issues with the ease of putting a lure back into the compartment? If that is the case, I'm sold. Now, if only I can get a volume discount on 30 Dunwright compartments to fill my lure storage boxes. Thanks for the feedback. Brian

Posts: 551 Location: Columbus, Georgia | I have two Dunwright boxes (the big wooden box and the bigger wooden box). They are pretty tough stuff. I had a problem with one and Dan (Vogel) swapped it out for me no questions asked. I have a storage hatch in the rear of my boat and I can fit six fully-loaded inserts into that space. It's a great way to carry extra baits on the boat without having to skirt a big box situated on the deck. I found that where ever I stow a tackle box on my boat .... I'll be tripping over it at some point during my fishing day. I think the storage compartments are aces. Craig

Just to clarify what someone else said... the box is NOT wood but made up of a much denser and stronger material. They are very nice.... I love mine.
