How is the tail attached to an 8" HR Shaker MVT? Can it be converted into a standard 3 hook Shaker? Are they weighted different? I was thinking it would be more versatile if it could be converted back and forth.

The tail on mine is attached by a dowel screw...to make it interchangable it would have to be taken out and have a screw eye put in...my tends to ride high in the water due to that tail...you have to work it super slow to get it to stay down in the water column...love it though...I think they are weighted the same as a regular shaker, they just have the squirelly tail on this end...

I am pretty sure that the MVT series are all weighted differently to counteract the drag and surface area of the tail. They needed to be readjusted. Try putting a tail on a regular shaker over the hook or insted of the hook and it will not run as good as the MVT's. As fas as working the bait, the previous post is right on.

Thanks for the responses. Not sure what you mean by “dowel screw”. I guess I was thinking there was a hitch-hiker on the back screw eye or something like that. It stands to reason that the MVT would have to be heavier in the tail to balance for the lack of a hook.
