| At the Milwaukee Expo this weekend I was telling some folks some stories about the Muske Nutz. They had no idea what has been done with the Muske Nutz Club and the money that is raised yearly : 1. At Party on the 2nd Saturday in April. We call it the MUSKE NUTZ PARTY 2. The Tony Mayer Memorial MUSKE NUTZ OUTING the third Sat. in July I will tell a quick story. In 2004 Gare Myshak started this in Sugar Camp, WI , where 12 original NUTZ got together. We raised money for Fishing Has No Boundaries. We raffled off a few baits and guide services. In 2005 we met in Crandon. We raffled off about 100 lures / prizes/ guide services and resort stays. The money,$450 was donated to the Laona PTO for equipment and Field Trips. We then decided to have an Outing and name it after an Original Nutz 's brother who had died in a boating incident (his name was Tony Mayer) this is the 3rd Saturday in July. To raise money for on the water safety in the area of the party. We fished the Sugar Camp Chain, ate some chicken and had a big fish trophy, prize money and also a raffle for boat safety and rescue in the Sugar Camp area. Guide service / lures and equipment raffled. I don not recall how much we donated exactly. In the 2006 April Muske Nutz party we had a huge fundraising event in Tomahawk, WI. We had donated food, lures, t -shirts , hats ,magazine subscriptions, guide services, hotel, motel / resort stays and on and on...... We raised around $1700 and donated it to the Kippenburg Creek for Kids . It was awesome. The Tony Mayer Memorial Outing in July was held on North and South Twin Lakes at Fast Freddy's House. We raised $700 plus dollars for Phelps and Conover Water Rescue. Then before X-mass this year the NUTZ on our Board recieved letters from Kippenburg Creek For Kids. As I read these letters I had to sit down with tears in my eyes. I realized that we were making a difference in peoples lives. I read stories about kids first bear hunting experience while blind , handicapped ,incurable diseases etc.... and how much it meant to them. The Guides from Kippenburg used our money and others to set up hunts, fishing trips ,snowmobile trips etc... for those in need. Very cool.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As wee look foreward to 2007 the Party will be April 7, 2007 at the Thirsty Whale in Minoqua. It starts at 12:00 Noon. The money will be donated to the Lakewood Sharing Foundation to raise money for needy families. Then in July the Tony Mayer Memorial outing will be at the Eagle River Inn and a new twist this year is to invite the Veterans who have served or are serving over seas in Iraq or Afghanastan or wherever else their country has asked them to go. I ran into 2 Veterans of Iraq over the weekend who are wound up to go and many have contacted Gare for Information and are ready......... So if you wanna join us at the Party or outing in July (We wil need guides(fisherman) with boats) or would like to make a generous donation. Please contact me(Dan Lazzeroni) or Gare Myshak. thanks and thanks so much for those who have donated this year or in the past. You are making a huge difference to us and those we donate to...... dannyboy [email protected] dannyboysguideservice.com 715-674-2061 www.garesguideservice.com 715-477-1058 The "Lakeland Sharing Foundation" is the charitable cause we are looking at for this years donation. Its headed up by the lady who is president of the Howard young hospitol in minocqua and from the info I have gotten on the foundation it sounds like a great cause. From the person I got the info from, my doctors secretary, they do stuff like help people at Christmas, with gifts , clothes at anytime of the year and stuff like that, they help those that need the help with different things. I will be calling the lady when she returns from being out of town. So for those of you who were waiting on this info here it is. Gare.
