Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It seems that muskies are not real interested in cribs or other structure this winter. I've shot several hours of video on old boats, cribs, etc, and have seen lots of big pike and zero muskies. last year I filmed the open water, and saw quite a few. The only difference is that the Perch are out over the open water; that seems to be where the Muskies are keying. That's where I'm headed next!

Posts: 199 | I was out on the ice Saturday on Big Arb in my friends shack jigging for perch I had some slight twitches on my spring (end of the rod). I looked into the hole and there was a mid 30's musky it looked like a tiger from the top beautiful markings that fish just made my day really cool.

Was out last weekend with CPainter on Waubesa and a nice chunky mid 30's musky swam by on the camera...sat there for a bit and we just watched it...then had to wiggle the camera to get it to swim away so the gils would come back in... funny how usually when we had a lull in the gill action we could pan the camera around and usually a little snake pike was nearby...

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Down here (as opposed to Rhinelander) in Chippewa county, a musky "ate" one of my fishing buddies camera last weekend. He lowered it next to a crib full of 5-7 inch bluegills, and it actually just nailed the camera, which was one of those that looks like a bluegill. He was fishing with somebody else, who lowered his regular black camera down and the musky ignored it. As soon as the bluegill camera went back down it got nailed again. They stopped the experiment before it got expensive, but took it as a lesson that matching the hatch may sometimes make a difference... Oh yeah, the musky also ignored the shiner they had near the crib under a tip-up. curleytail

Posts: 32930 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have had several pike hit the camera this year, and a couple muskies last year. The camera doesn't look like a fish and it's bright yellow or black, I have two.
