| How long will you soak a bait before changing lures.
You have your number 1 bait on with no action, you know this baits produces all the time, but no action, what do you do?
How many of us has had a bait on with no action, kept changing baits and at the end of the day put the same bait on we started with and "BLAM" fish on! |

| Fever,
For the most part I'm not a bait changer, at least when it comes to trolling. I have baits that I like and have confidence in, those are the ones I run. Most of them are for targeting a specific depth, if I see that due to bait fish or structure that a depth change is in order, I will switch. Otherwise, I already know that I have a proven producer on the end of the line.
One other thing that will get me to change or experiment. If I have hit some of the smaller lakes that I fish pretty hard or have boated a lot of fish that season from them, I have found it pays to make a bait change to some other type of action on my baits, but keeping the proper depth is the key. No sense making a switch if you're not in the "zone".
Good question. |

| Ralph are you talking casting or trolling. Casting i will run three rods, first rod is the old reliable/confidence bait, the second rod will have a second confidence bait, and the third will have a teaser or castback bait. By the time you get to the third rod you have no problem going back to the first, keeps me going all day. Trolling i will change at least one rod every 1/2hour or more. That baised on a 6 rod setup, but have also ran 6 of the same baits when its working(not all exactly the same color). |

| Mike,
I'm talking strictly trolling! |

| I have my confidence baits...the chewed up ones. I run three lines with those. Then I take the fourth line and change every 1/2 hour on it.
Alot of times its timing..and when the muskie hour strikes you want to at least have three confidence baits in the water.
Use the fouth line to cover a different Zone.. Sometimes you learn a new trick.
I could use 3 lines per person, but I only use 2. I find my boat control is better because I dont have as many problems to worry about.[;)] |

| It's a depth thing,,, It's always a depth thing.
I change baits ALL the time and don't have a favorite, my favorite is the bait I'm running when we hit the fish. I love that bait! It's a depth thing, it's always a depth thing,,, it's hard to catch a fish in 20' if my bait is in 3'. I guess,,, I could hope,,,, she sees it,,, naa, I'd rather put it on her nose.[;)] |

| I have my baits that I sart out with but after a couple of laps I will change baits and or colors. Then every lap I will change one bait at least. I troll with four rods, 2-3 are on planer boards and the rest behind the boat. |

| I don't like to change baits to much as everytime you change your lure is time your lure isn't working for you. I will go with my confidence baits and will change one here and there but my lures get a lot of time out there before they get pulled in. |
