Posts: 574 | The day of the first regular season football games this year as we launched the boat I said to my partner"We don't even need to start the motor" We were THE only boat at the launch and it was raining off and on all day. 3 hours and 4 fish later we still hadn't started the outboard or the locator. I caught only 1 of the 4, and it was the smallest of the night comming in at 42"! I can only hope we find an angry pack like that again someday. Posts: 723 | the best memory that stands out in my mind out of all the blurry ones  was my first big fish, Big Arbor Vitae, bluebird skys, very light chop, just got up north for a 3 day weekend with my fishing bud, we were working some weeds over, he boated a 32, fish went airborne, right next to the boat, shortly there after, I have around a 40 follow and turn away. I was pumped up cause usually it took us a little bit to get in our groove, well, we moved out to some deeper weeds, I popped on a perch suick and started crashing it through the weeds, well, I was getting frustrated but just kept casting, I didn't feel all the confident in what I was doing but figured I would make a few more casts and then switch, well, I made a long bomb cast into the sun, gave it maybe 2 pulls and WHAM! at first I was like, no way! I stayed quiet till I knew for sure what I had, but, my partner felt the boat rock, looks back at me and is like, whoa, you got one? just then, 45 inches of Pi$$ed off musky comes about 5 feet out of the water, oh yeah!!!!! well, this fish put up a fight I never knew I would get, cork-screwing in the weeds, running under the boat, and all I could see is my buddy trying to untangle the net out of the standing rods in the rack, I thought for sure she was going to leave shortly, but, he got her scooped and that was all. still can see that fish leaping 5 ft in the air, awesome! since then, its been a blur. too many fish and not enough brain space for them all. | ||
