Posts: 1530 | best memory was in 1957. the fish was never landed. we were perch fishing. my dad hooked a perch on his heavy stainless rod with wire line under a float. the perch stopped but a huge railway tie musky swallowed the perch. he fought and cussed that fish till it shook loose. we talked about that fish till the day he died. great memory.

Posts: 574 | The day of the first regular season football games this year as we launched the boat I said to my partner"We don't even need to start the motor" We were THE only boat at the launch and it was raining off and on all day. 3 hours and 4 fish later we still hadn't started the outboard or the locator. I caught only 1 of the 4, and it was the smallest of the night comming in at 42"! I can only hope we find an angry pack like that again someday. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 1188 Location: Iowa | Getting my buddy his first muskie on Clear Lake, IA after renting a 12 ft lund with a 9.9 hp Merc from the Dome bait shop and trolling for 5 minutes...it was the collest thing ever and we didn't bring a net because we both thought it was bad luck...a chunky 36"er though and a hell of a memory that will stick with me forever... Posts: 171 | My wife's first. I saw it hit, hollered for her to set the hook and proceeded to get soaked as it jumped and splashed around. Ended up losing the cradle (backed the boat up to grab it as it drifted away), getting the 3rd hook stuck in the cradle and flipping the fish into the cradle (barbless hooks no less!). Geez, am I a handicap for her or what! Erieboy75

driving home from the lake in rain pouring down so hard we could only go 30mph, and my father-in-law whom i'd never heard swear before says in straight deadpan, "that was a f-ing big fish."

Posts: 1430 Location: Eastern Ontario | When I caught four thirty pounders ( 51-49-48-50 ) in one hour I had thought I had died and gone to muskie heaven. I was sure this task was to never be equaled but one night I caught and landed twin 54x24 inch pigs just 5 minutes apart casting. To me it's like a tie. Those memories will never fade away I remember them just like it was yesterday.

Posts: 1296 Location: WI | Fishing all week and catching nothing, then having one nail a topwater 10ft from the boat and watching both the fish (20lb class ski) and the lure fly through the air, in separate directions. One of those moments when you're by yourself in a trance, and then after it happens you have to ask yourself "did I just see that?".

My best musky memory comes from Clear Fork Lake in Ohio fishing with my Grandfather. At 81 years old he boated the largest musky or fish of his life a 43", 20 pound beauty. It is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.
