Location: Pittsburgh, PA | I was browsing and saw that Bass Pro shops has Daiwa saltwater rods on clearance for around $15. 6'6'' through 10' lengths. Should make a pretty decent trolling rod. Also 125 yard spools of Spiderwire on clearance. Just an fyi to you folks.

| If I were you I would go with the Shimano TDR's in 8 foot heavy action.
I think they are around 30.00

Location: Iowa | My buddy uses the cabela's trolling combos that you run the line through and he loves them...I think the combo ran 89.99 for the reel and rod...they were 8'6"ers too...he caught a 30 lb+ using them too and it handled the fish without a problem...

| ugly sticks 6 ft. rods make excellent trolling rods. Also, they won't break during the late Fall. $39
