The weather for the middle of the week here in Rhinelander looks very much like Winter. Highs in the twenties and lows in the teens or even single digits in some of the state. We'll be ice fishing here in a week or so, looks like. It's been a good year!

Yes it has! Hit the water for the last day fishing in WI for 06 with CPainter and Dan Okray...started out at 54 degrees at 8am...ended up getting off the water early cuz the fishing sucked so bad at 4pm and it was 39....it is starting to sleet out right now...so much for our mild Nov.

Tonight was a sad time with heavy rain Sanks fished during the day and I went out after work to pull out his boat, we did get the chance to talk to Kevin Mahlberg at the pier. He's done well the last 2 weeks on Pewaukee(10-15 fish)We just didn't get on them enough this fall. And the sucker fishing...well lets just say I know who the sucker is.

It's alway's tough to say good bye to the season, I'm kid of getting sick of the lack of ice to make the winter pass...maybe Mexico for some Tequilla can pass the time faster. It should make me forget more about thin ice.

i take off from work every year to go out and fish closing day.
pretty dang cold today - 18 degrees when i launched this morning, 20 degrees when i pulled off the lake, with 15mph winds steady all day. the theme today was "ice"!
i trolled in the morning, stopped for lunch and a brew, then i missed a couple on suckers this afternoon. but it's not about the fish as much as celebrating the end of another great year. here's to hoping next is as good.

Mike, do you suppose the power rating on the rod in the 1st. pic. has changed? Might be kind of hard to load that one up.

good one!
i can't quite see through the ice, but i think it says "high modulus" on there some where...

cool picture, isn't it? the nice thing about digital cameras is that you can take 20 pics to make sure you get 1 good one.
i kept the camera in my shirt all day so the batteries would stay warm. after about 10 shots of my iced-up boat at the landing, the camera went sluggish and quit on me. gets cold quick!

Great pics lambeau. I'm going to try to get out Sunday. Winter storm is passed, took a drive today looking for ice to stand on. None in sight so I'm pulling the tarp off the boat and heading out for tigers. It's not supposed to get above freezing temps until Monday, but I have excess cold weather gear from the PI trip!

Is that your livewell that those suckers are in??? I was hoping that you pulled a "Tom Gelb" out there yesterday and would catch a monster, you deserved it....battling those conditions. I am still glad that I bailed on you, though.
