Location: Eastern Ontario | I only know of one body of water that puts out true 57+ fish every single year. And there may be a couple more capable but not on a yearly bases. |

| We'll let's just say that 57" fish are caught every single year! FACT! I know of about 25 + 57"ers and i've seen the pictures of everyone of them! They don't make it to these message boards for a reason! The people that catch them, don't need to post the pictures on here to feel good about themselves and beat there chests. They simple enjoy the moment with the select group of guys year in and year out! All I can say is that i've been BLESSED to be able to enjoy every single one of them! Peace out! |

| just curious but when did 57 become a magic #? seems since more big fish are getting caught fish like 48''s aren't considered big anymore. |

You never know who adds info here. That post could have been from a guy who guides clients to these monsters. He is in the LOOP for sure.

Location: Cave Run Lake KY. | Don. In Larry Ramsell's 1997 ( A Compendium of Musky Angling History ) He lists 93 muskies in his all time 50-pound Club. In order for a 57" musky to be 50# it has to be around 26.5" in girth . Therefore most 57" fish whould make the 50# Club. Im sure that in the 12 years sence than quite a few 50#ers have been released. I know of and have seen two such fish taken in the spring from the Sioux Narrows area, these fish were taken back to Ohio and mounted and are not talked about only for private display. There is no way to keep track of fish like these as no one will say wear they were caught. I only know of these fish because I was there when they were caught and got to see them. Im sure that in the Georgian bay erea there are 57" fish caught and kept the week before the season. No one is going to say to much. I know of Muskie Inc. menbers that don't enter big fish in the members only contest because they have to say where they where caught. Lake X - - Good Luck my friend Good Luck. Marv. |

If I caught a 57" (or larger) Musky, I surely would not want to keep that a secret.
If I caught a 57" or bigger I COULDN'T keep it a secret! Get a couple cocktails in me and I'd turn into a blubbering fool....wait...maybe it wouldn't even take one!  |

If they we indeed taken in "the spring from the Sioux Narrows area" and Gbay "caught and kept the week before the season" maybe standing up for what is right and turning in poachers would be the first step. Something to consider in helping our neighbors to the north don't you think?

Location: Cave Run Lake KY. | I was refering to 57'ers being caught over the years. In the Sioux Nerrows's area the two fish were caught on opening week, two years apart. The Georgian Bay fish were caught on the Friday before the season and kept over night to be entered in a local contest the next day. These are fish that don't show up on fish lists. As for turning in poachers, Ill leave that to someone who doesn't whant to get invited back to to fish or hunt on lake X or private land. It just might be our neighbors to the north don't want our help. ( changes in latitude changes in attitude ) |

| I know of six 57"or longer from this year alone,via the loop. Every year there are a few caught,mostly out East and are never talked about.Why they are not talked about,just look at the number of boats now going to the 40 Acre Shoals!

I think that I can get a good measurement with a metal rule. So no I won't take a bumpboard as you asked. The fish will have a bend in it I'm sure so a bumpboard be useless. I'll do the best I can and thats all I can do.
