Posts: 280 Location: Pewaukee WI | Anyone know the best place is to get FLAT stick on 1/2" eyes, or anyone have any they want to get rid of. I Can't handle buying anymore 3D eyes that have the entire backing stuck to the back of the eye or have them lose there ahesion while spinning. I've tried everything and am sick of the hassel.

I've never had them come off while the clearcoat was drying, unless you are putting them on a curved surface and they aren't staying down. If the lure is round, you can always countersink a flat spot for the eyes with a drill bit. I hate it also, when they don't peel off of the backing and you wind up picking at them. I get mine from Reinke Bros. in Milwaukee. 414-383-5591 I believe that they have the big flat ones. The flat ones will work on a curved surface better than the 3-D models. Beav

Posts: 280 Location: Pewaukee WI | thanks guys, that should help. ya i do countersink a recessed hole but even that doesn't seem to hold them all, the adhesive does not work. Edited by Musky_Slayer 11/1/2006 11:42 AM

If you are putting on several coats of epoxy, wait until the first coat is at its most stickiest and put them on then. The next coats will seal them on tight.
