Location: nationwide | About 10 years ago we broke ice from the landing to where we wanted to fish, about 2 miles, broke a big area of the ice where we wanted to fish, waited for the wind to blow all the ice to one side and fished all day, then re-broke ice back to the landing. Nothing like the sound of fiberglass breaking ice. We have peeled off keel guards, scraped decals off the sides of the boat and lost a plug (that was a bad deal). All in the name of getting out for "one las time".

Location: Muskegon Michigan | I have cleared an entire lake of 1/4 inch plate ice by running on plane all over the lake. The waves and wind did the rest. After two hours I caught two Muskies to finish my 2004 season In December in Lower Michigan. This year we will go south if we have to . We live in Michigan and will fish in Ill, Ohio, Indiana and even as far as Kentucky. I dont think the 2006 season will see frozen water in Indiana . Might get a freeze by January. By then we are done. We caught our first fish in your home lake Vince. Webster 1/26/2006. Its a 12 month sport for us. Kingfisher |

Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | depending on how you want to look at it. The earliest was Jan 1st. Or would that be the latest. Hmmm I guess I'd call it the last for that particular season since the next time out was 8 weeks later in the first week of march.

Location: Palm Coast, FL | I am pretty sure Indiana waters will see ice. Water temps are already in the mid 40's and maybe even a little lower than that after the past 2 nights in the 20's.

| The water on my pool cover had a skim of ice on it this morning down here in Indy. Does that count?
My guess is...if Indiana sees any ice on our lakes this winter...it'll be very much like last winter: mild. With a very short timeframe that the lakes will have ice on them. I know it's all hearsay...but...I keep hearing and reading that this is to be another mild winter for us down here. Only time will tell. We'll have to wait and see.... |

| Closed season for me offically lasts a month, in Minn our lakes are mostly done by dec 15th,, then in a month its the Chi Muskie expo and that officially is the start to the comming season |

Location: Waukesha, WI | I've used the Lund to make open water in the past. The only fish I saw that day was a northern pike, and on its way to the boat, the eyelets froze over the line. It felt like a tip-up moment reeling that fish in hand-over-hand.
