After a long summer with my 3 year old, my 10 month old, fishing, and work, I am starting to find time to work on baits. Here's a few of my recent creations as well as a link to a video of the 8" lures in action. I also made four 10" versions (one for the Debbie Breyer auction, one for Pointerpride, one for Muskynightmare, and one for Ranger) and both Muskynightmare and Ranger have already picked up fish on them.

Kevin,

Thanks for the compliment. I don't sell the lures I make anymore - the competition is tight and my priorities have changed. Plus, Riverman, Beav, Snax - those guys are masters. I actually keep Beav and Jed's baits around as benchmarks for the way my baits should be like.

There will be some available at the Debbie Breyer Benefit Auction which is a great way to get the baits. The orange one in the video clip is actually the 8" glider in the auction.

Shane

Shane those really are very nice, great colors but more importantly a sweet action in the water.

They all look nice to me. You do good work. Quality paintjobs and great use of highlights.
I'm just starting to do some weighting for some lures for next year.
I don't make many, and it's still hard to find time to do the prep work.
Between my daughter playing hockey, and trying to get in a tree for a day or two, I don't have the time to put in to making a lot of lures. I guess that I like it that way.
You have your priorities right. Spending time with your kids is always more important than any lure.
Now my daughter is 10 and playing hockey, but she loves to fish and wants to help me make lures.
She wants to be promoted to the "eye sticker-oner".
What I need is a driller, lead pounder, hole filler. Then I can just paint.
I'm flattered that you would hold my lures as a benchmark. I try to make them nice, but I can think of many that are better than mine. And from the looks of what you are doing, you are on your way to producing some fine looking lures.
It's nice to see some lures that aren't exact copies of someone else's work. You have a style of your own, and I predict some more awesome patterns will find their way out of your garage.
I like to see all of the different, new gliders. It's just a hobby for me, and I barely pay off the credit card that I use for lure supplies at the end of the year, but I just plain like to make lures. Then to see somebody like Rumbleknott catch a 49" pig on one of my creations makes it all seem worth it. Guys e-mail me that don't post, and it makes you feel good to see big smiles and big fish that are a result of somthing that you made.
My box is full of all of my lures, a few HR's and a handful of other basement baits. I like seeing and using lures made by people who are making lures because they like to.
I am especially impressed with some of the new foil lures that some of you guys are coming up with. Those are a works of art.
I'll have to learn how to do that some day.
Keep up the good work, and make sure that your kids remain your priority.
Very nice lures. I look forward to throwing some of them one day next year

Shane's 10's are the absolute sweetest glider I've ever thrown. Have I caught fish on other gliders? Sure. but the 10's, with their action, are as easy to work as a Manta, with better action. Thank you so much for the one that I have!

I never knew gliders could perform as well as the Timberwolf. Best I ever for me.
