Hey everybody hope your doing well. My 3-1/2 year old daughter gets a kick out the fishing lures that I'm making in the garage. She come out and checks on me a couple times a night. She came out and wanted me to make a purple one. I asked her what will we call it. she said a " purple fish eater" I don't thinks she realizes that it is the other way around! They only problem is that I can't get it back! Its been in the toy box and almost had barbie clothes on it! It might not ever get hooks on it! She has to fall asleep some time .........right! My friends "fatfingers" and "luredaddy" said "keep it fun" I am having a ball! We are carving pumpkins tonight!
Catch you later
John

Ps. if you guys have any color schemes to suggest I am all ears. I'll give it a shot!

Hey everybody thanks for the kind words. I finally got a scale and the bait weighs a little over 5 oz. with no hooks on it yet.

Guts, I'll have to give you a pm for a better decription. Haven't tried any striped patterns yet. I'll give it a go!

Tuffy, actually my daughter and I have a moe couple of fun ones going on right now! No foil this time. just paint.

Supermusky. I have been trying some different ones. I tried the defcon. It seems to be brittle and chippy. I went to the hobby store and got some model airplane epoxy. It is the hobby store brand. Doesn't like to be touched for a couple of days but when it hardens its very durable it seems. Also has a little give and doesn't want to chip. I am going to try a test with the two. You may cringe but I'm going to throw same baits on my gravel driveway! See how they hold up.

Thanks
John

I too have tried many epoxies and in my case I find something wrong with each one for my particular application. Some are too brittle and some have bubble problems. Others react to to certain types of paint, etc. Some are better to hang and some are better on my drying rack. The search continues.
