Is this locator worth the money. Does anyone have one and what is the general opinion on these.

Jim:

I think the X-91 is a pretty new unit for Lowrance, and I don't think most people would have had them on a boat as of yet. As I understand it, the X-91 is scheduled to replace the X-85. The X-85 was a very good unit, and I would guess that the X-91 would do everything that the X-85 did, and probably some more.
